The aim of the initial stage of the ACT project, Intellectual Output 1 (IO1): Accessibility Profiling, was\u00a0to investigate the accessibility facilities and training currently available in cultural venues across Europe in order to inform further project phases. Building on the important work of various different organisations in providing and improving access to the arts at local level, IO1 opened\u00a0up the discussion to an international level by bringing together various stakeholders involved in the process of making live events accessible for all, gathering feedback about arts accessibility across the partner countries from:
\n(1) cultural venues;
\n(2) members of the artistic team; and
\n(3) diverse audiences including people with varying physical, linguistic, sensory and cognitive abilities.<\/p>\n

In order to facilitate discussion about ways to enhance access training and provisions, strategies for coordinating the various different people and new technologies involved, and raising awareness of these provisions so that wider audiences can enjoy an inclusive experience of the arts, the work of IO1 included\u00a0the actions summarised below.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0The proposed work model for IO1 was set out at the first ACT project meeting on 27 November 2016<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2022 A\u00a0provisional timeline<\/a>\u00a0was drafted,\u00a0objectives and KPIs discussed<\/a>,\u00a0ethics approval<\/a>\u00a0was gained.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The\u00a0venues<\/strong>\u00a0and users questionnaires were drafted and revised (QUB Venues<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0QUB Users<\/a>), then translated into the other languages of the partner countries (UAntwerp Venues<\/a>\u00a0&\u00a0UAntwerp Users<\/a>,\u00a0UVienna Venues<\/a>\u00a0&\u00a0UVienna Users<\/a>,\u00a0UAB Venues<\/a>\u00a0&\u00a0UAB Users<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\u2022 The\u00a0activities<\/strong> of IO1 were disseminated via various media and platforms such as e-mail, phone, RNIB podcast,\u00a0conferences (conference 01,\u00a0conference 02<\/a>,\u00a0conference 03<\/a>), social media\u00a0project webpage<\/a>;\u00a0QUBelfast webpage<\/a>; twitter @ActBelfast);\u00a0UAntwerp webpage.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0Questionnaires<\/strong>\u00a0were distributed to arts venues and users in each partner country using various methods such as e-mail, in person, online questionnaires including Qualtrix, SurveyMonkey (users\u00a0and\u00a0venues).<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0Focus groups<\/strong>\u00a0 at\u00a0UAB<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Antwerp<\/a>\u00a0and events promoting the project were conducted.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0Feedback<\/strong>\u00a0was collected from members of the artistic team by\u00a0NTGent<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Tr\u00e0nsit<\/a><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0Report:\u00a0<\/strong>A report<\/a>\u00a0summarising the work of IO1 was written including details of the KPIs.<\/p>\n

\u2022 All data from across the partner countries was collected, organised, discussed, and analysed\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
