Josu Amezaga Albizu<\/strong> is a Full Professor at the University of the Basque Country \/ Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea and participates in the ALMA network as main researcher at NOR Group. With a PhD. in Political Sociology (UPV\/EHU), he has directed and participated in many publications and research studies, especially related to Minority Languages (regional or immigrant). His research stays include Victoria University of Technology and Charles Sturt University (Australia), as well as the\u00a0 University of Glasgow.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Pablo Romero Fresco<\/strong> is Ram\u00f3n y Cajal researcher at Universidade de Vigo (Spain) and Honorary Professor of Translation and Filmmaking at the University of Roehampton (London, UK). He is the author of Subtitling through Speech Recognition: Respeaking (Routledge) and Accessible Filmmaking (Routledge). He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Audiovisual Translation and is the leader of the international research centre GALMA (Galician Observatory for Media Access), for which he is currently coordinating several international projects on media accessibility, including ILSA: Interlingual Live Subtitling for Access, funded by the EU Commission. Pablo is also a filmmaker. His first documentary, Joining the Dots (2012), was screened during the 69th Venice Film Festival and was used by Netflix as well as film schools around Europe to raise awareness about audiodescription.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Researcher at the Group of Audiovisual Studies (GI-1786). Three six-year CNEAI investigations. IP of 2 competitive R+D+i projects (state and European) and 7 non-competitive R+D+i contracts. AEI Expert Evaluator. Author of 2 software patents: 03\/2019\/202 “Virtual TV Set Light Analyzer” and 03\/2018\/1113 “Virtual TV Set Sensor Middleware”. Coordinator of “COMVIRTINDO” Teaching Research Group (GID 92 – USC).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Jaume Segura Garcia<\/strong> received M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in applied physics from the University of Valencia, Spain, in 1998 and 2003, respectively. After completing his Ph.D., he was with the Robotics Institute, University of Valencia, where he was involved in several projects related to intelligent transportation systems. Since 2008, he has been with the Department of Computer Science, University of Valencia, where he is currently an Associate Professor. He has been a Visiting Researcher with multiple European research centers. He has co-authored over 90 publications, national and international journals, book chapters, and conferences. He was on the Organizing Committee and TPC of several national and international conferences, including the International Workshop on Virtual Acoustics (2011), in Salento AVR, and Tecniacustica 2015. He is a member of the Spanish Acoustics Society and the European Acoustics Association.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Fernando Boronat<\/strong> is the head of the IIM R&D Group at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV).\u00a0 There he received M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in telecommunication engineering, in 1994 and 2014, respectively. He is Assistant Professor in the Communications Department. He has extensive experience in research and teaching in communication networks, multimedia systems and protocols, and media synchronization. His main research areas are immersive and interactive media systems and applications, mulsemedia and media synchronization. He is the author of more than 100 research papers, involved in several IPCs and is the reviewer of relevant journals and conferences.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ana Tamayo<\/strong> has worked at the University of the Basque Country (UPV\/EHU) since November 2016. She obtained her BA and MA at Universitat Jaume I (Castell\u00f3n, Spain). At the same university, she defended her PhD about captioning for d\/Deaf and Hard of Hearing children in 2015. She has completed two international research stays, at the University of Roehampton (London, UK) and at the Universidad C\u00e9sar Vallejo (Lima, Per\u00fa). Currently, she is a member of the research groups TRALIMA\/ITZULIK (UPV\/EHU) and collaborates with other groups. Her research interests focus on audiovisual translation and accessibility in different modalities. She is especially interested in contributing to research on accessible filmmaking and captioning and sign language.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Anna Matamala<\/strong>, associate professor at Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona, participates in the ALMA network as main researcher of TransMedia Catalonia. BA in Translation (UAB) and PhD in Applied Linguistics (UPF), Anna Matamala has led many projects on audiovisual translation and media accessibility. She has also taken an active role in standardization committees. You will find a list of projects and publications on her website<\/a>. A recent publication is her book “Accessibilitat i traducci\u00f3 audiovisual”<\/a>, published by Eumo.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
