I have been a member of the Department of Modern Languages in the University of Southampton since 2012. Previously, I was living and working in Madrid and Barcelona, Spain, where I did teaching and research work for over ten years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #333333\">My research interests include interactional sociolinguistics, language socialisation, intercultural communication and multilingualism. My research has been focussed on the relationship between Spanish and other languages within the framework of globalisation, from a sociolinguistic ethnographic perspective. I have concentrated on the social processes involved in interaction by focussing on the intersection between language, ideology and identity in institutional settings.
