Lines of research<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the last 15 years my research career was focused on how Animal Domestication Processes (ADP) were carried out for the first time in Southwest Asia (SWA), and what human societies did to develop husbandry practices to the most western European and Mediterranean regions. In this research field, I developed pioneering works through the integration of biogeochemical analyses in the traditional Zooarchaeological studies. I led studies in Syria, SE Turkey, Jordan and Israel looking for evidences of the early steps of Animal domestication. In Europe (Danube basin, SE Romania; NE Spain and SE France) and North Africa (E of Morocco) I developed this research looking for evidences of diffusion and adaptation of domesticates into new western scenarios providing data beyond the state of the art. I built new suitable Stable Isotopes Analysis methods and techniques in my field, providing tools to investigate historical life-traits of past animals with a high-resolution time analysis (i.e. seasonal, annual) performed on archaeological teeth and bones. Besides my i) Biogeochemical specialization, I led my scientific activity in two other research axes: ii) Zooarchaeological analyses through a data-driven approach; and iii) Direction of Archaeological fieldwork-led research.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
