Hem de comen\u00e7ar, perqu\u00e8 ja fem tard, a aplicar adaptacions que millorin l’efici\u00e8ncia en la distribuci\u00f3 d’aigua<\/strong>. Aquest \u00e9s el t\u00edtol de l’entrevista realitzada per Gara Villalba des de la Xarxa d’Equipaments Ambientals de Barcelona<\/em>\u00a0(XEAB<\/em>) i publicada a La F\u00e0brica del<\/strong> Sol. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Des de l’Ajuntament de Barcelona s’ha creat un Grup d’Expertes i Experts d’Emerg\u00e8ncia Clim\u00e0tica de Barcelona (GEC), del qual Gara Villalba n’\u00e9s portaveu, amb l’objectiu d’apropar la ci\u00e8ncia a la cuitadania, per entendre el canvi clim\u00e0tic i per entendre qu\u00e8 passar\u00e0 a Catalunya i a Barcelona, que \u00e9s molt important<\/strong>.\u00a0 El primer tema a tractar va ser la circularitat dels recursos en els sistemes urbans, on Gara Villalba va destacar la poca optimitzaci\u00f3 de la ciutat de Barcelona en aquest aspecte: “\u00c9s clar que els materials tenen les seves propietats, no podem fer una reutilitzaci\u00f3 indefinida. Per\u00f2 justament amb l’aigua i els nutrients tenim molt marge de treball a les ciutats i podem reduir molt l’impacte de l’extracci\u00f3 d’aquestes mat\u00e8ries primeres fent aquesta circularitat<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n

En motiu del Dia Mundial de l’aigua (el proper 22 de mar\u00e7), tamb\u00e9 es va parlar de l’\u00fas d’aquest b\u00e9 a Catalunya. “A Catalunya gaudim d’una gran autosufici\u00e8ncia, produim el 40% dels aliments que consumim i aix\u00f2 significa que tamb\u00e9 necessitem molta aigua per fer-ho. De fet, de l’aigua de Catalunya, m\u00e9s o menys un 70% se’n va cap a l’agricultura. Aix\u00f2 vol dir que l’escassetat d’aigua que veurem en un futur afectar\u00e0 la nostra font d’aliments i la nostra economia, que dep\u00e8n de l’agricultura”<\/strong>. A m\u00e9s, aquesta aigua que va destinada al regadiu tamb\u00e9 pateix p\u00e8rdues a causa de la xarxa de distribuci\u00f3 i del propi reg, que sovint \u00e9s de gravetat.<\/p>\n

We have to start right now, because we are already late, to apply adaptations that improve the efficiency in the water distribution .<\/strong> This is the title of Gara Villalba’s interview\u00a0 for the “Xarxa d’Equipaments Ambientals de Barcelona” (XEAB) and published in “La F\u00e0brica del Sol”.<\/p>\n

Barcelona City Council has created a Group of Experts in Climate Emergency of Barcelona (GEC), of which Gara Villalba is a spokesperson, with the aim of bringing science closer to everyone, understanding climate change and also what is going to happen in Catalonia and Barcelona, which is very important<\/strong>.\u00a0 The first topic to be addressed was the circularity of resources in urban systems, where Gara Villalba highlighted the lack of optimization of the city of Barcelona in this aspect: “Of course that the materials have their properties and we cannot do an indefinite reuse. But precisely with water and nutrients we have a lot of work to do in cities and we can greatly reduce the impact of the extraction of these raw materials by making this circularity<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n

On the occasion of World Water Day (next March 22nd), there was also a talk of the water use in Catalonia. “In Catalonia, we have a great self-sufficiency. We produce 40% of the food we consume and that means that we also need a lot of water to do so. In fact, from the catalan water, roughly 70% goes towards agriculture. This means that the water scarcity that we will see in the future will also affect our food source and our economy, which depends on agriculture”<\/strong>. In addition, this water that is used for irrigation also suffers losses due to the distribution network and by the gravity irrigation itself.<\/p>\n
