We kindly invite you to participate in the<\/span><\/span>\u00a0workshop entitled \u2018Agricultural Perspectives in the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona\u2019<\/span><\/b><\/span>, organized by URBAG and sponsored by the Maria de Maeztu programme of excellence at ICTA-UAB.\u00a0 The workshop will take place at ICTA-UAB on Friday, 25th of NOVEMBER 2022, from 9:30 to 14h.\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Background:\u202f<\/span><\/b><\/span>\u202f<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, we observe two contradicting developments regarding urban agriculture<\/b> that reflect a current global trend: while urban gardening is on vogue and supported by municipal actions, over the past decades the agricultural land has been reduced from 20% to 8-9% of the AMB surface.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Objectives:<\/span><\/b><\/span>\u202f<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This co-creation workshop will bring together a broad variety of stakeholders in urban agriculture, including the private sector, governance bodies across different scales, NGOs and academia to discuss:<\/p>\n

(a) what are desired and feasible future scenarios for urban agriculture in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

(b) which are the pathways to alter the decline and to increase urban agriculture and to overcome current obstacles.\u202f\u202f<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
