This study offers novel understanding of the complex nature of water-related risks in urban geographies by employing a Social-Ecological-Technological Systems (SETS) framework to assess vulnerabilities. Hydrology-informed urban risk index was developed, quantifying seventeen indicators from historical and modeled data on sewer overflow and flood events. The spatially explicit SETS-based approach identifies high-risk communities and hotspots where multiple vulnerabilities intersect and can serve as a valuable tool for guiding policy and decision-making to support more resilient urban futures. Our findings reveal that social vulnerability plays a critical role in determining the overall risk (R = 0.4), with the greatest impacts imposed on socially vulnerable communities. However, insights from the ecological (R = 0.2) and technological (R = 0.1) domains provide essential guidance for future risk reduction strategies\u2014such as upgrading outdated sewer infrastructure and exploring green space potential for run-off mitigation. The framework proposed is generalizable to other cities facing similar environmental challenges, highlighting its potential as a foundational tool for policymaking to reduce risks associated with extreme climate events.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Catal\u00e0:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">En el context del creixement de la poblaci\u00f3 urbana i el canvi clim\u00e0tic, s\u2019espera que un nombre cada vegada m\u00e9s gran de persones afronti riscos greus associats als fen\u00f2mens meteorol\u00f2gics extrems, especialment aquells relacionats amb les aig\u00fces pluvials. Aquest estudi ofereix una comprensi\u00f3 innovadora de la naturalesa complexa dels riscos h\u00eddrics en entorns urbans mitjan\u00e7ant l\u2019\u00fas d\u2019un marc de Sistemes Socio-Ecol\u00f2gics-Tecnol\u00f2gics (SETS) per avaluar les vulnerabilitats. S\u2019ha desenvolupat un \u00edndex de risc urb\u00e0 basat en la hidrologia, que quantifica disset indicadors extrets de dades hist\u00f2riques i modelades sobre desbordaments del clavegueram i episodis d\u2019inundaci\u00f3. L\u2019enfocament espacialment expl\u00edcit basat en el marc SETS identifica comunitats d\u2019alt risc i punts calents on convergeixen m\u00faltiples vulnerabilitats, i pot esdevenir una eina valuosa per orientar pol\u00edtiques i decisions cap a un futur urb\u00e0 m\u00e9s resilient. Els nostres resultats revelen que la vulnerabilitat social juga un paper clau en la determinaci\u00f3 del risc global (R = 0.4), amb els impactes m\u00e9s grans sobre les comunitats socialment vulnerables. No obstant aix\u00f2, els coneixements obtinguts dels \u00e0mbits ecol\u00f2gic (R = 0.2) i tecnol\u00f2gic (R = 0.1) proporcionen orientaci\u00f3 essencial per a futures estrat\u00e8gies de reducci\u00f3 de riscos \u2014com ara la modernitzaci\u00f3 d\u2019infraestructures de clavegueram obsoletes i l\u2019exploraci\u00f3 del potencial dels espais verds per mitigar l\u2019escorrentia.
