We develop a stepwise multi-criteria analysis to determine cross-scale NBSs impacts based on their capacity to alter social-ecological vulnerabilities and apply the framework to optimize green roof implementation in Oslo. NBSs impacts are calculated using diverse methodologies (e.g., life-cycle assessment, spatial modelling) and related to local-scale vulnerabilities\u2014heat, heavy rainfall, lack of habitat for pollinators, air pollution, and lack of nature interaction\u2014via spatial indicators and broad-scale vulnerabilities linked to earth system boundaries such as climate change and changes in biochemical flows. Stakeholder workshops serve to weigh the relative importance of impacts on vulnerabilities. Results show that green roofs reduced local-scale vulnerabilities to heatwaves and heavy rainfall but increased broad-scale vulnerability to climate change due to construction, implementation, and removal, creating trade-offs across spatial scales. Consequently, maximizing green roofs was not the most effective strategy. Instead, green-roof implementation of 68 % maximizes desired impacts while minimizing undesired ones. Our approach provides a novel local-to-global integrated framework to examine cross-scale trade-offs and synergies of NBSs, supporting its effective planning in cities.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Catal\u00e0:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Les solucions basades en la natura (NBS, per les seves sigles en angl\u00e8s) poden abordar desafiaments socioecol\u00f2gics en entorns urbans, com l&#8217;adaptaci\u00f3 al canvi clim\u00e0tic i la conservaci\u00f3 de la biodiversitat, per\u00f2 els seus impactes locals i globals sovint no s\u00f3n plenament avaluats. Desenvolupem una an\u00e0lisi multicriteri en passos per determinar els impactes a diferents escales de les NBS en funci\u00f3 de la seva capacitat per alterar les vulnerabilitats socioecol\u00f2giques, i apliquem aquest marc per optimitzar la implementaci\u00f3 de cobertes verdes a Oslo. Els tallers amb actors clau serveixen per ponderar la import\u00e0ncia relativa dels impactes sobre les vulnerabilitats. Els resultats mostren que les cobertes verdes redueixen les vulnerabilitats locals a les onades de calor i a les pluges intenses, per\u00f2 augmenten la vulnerabilitat global al canvi clim\u00e0tic a causa de la seva construcci\u00f3, implementaci\u00f3 i retirada, generant compensacions entre escales espacials. Per tant, maximitzar la cobertura verda no era l\u2019estrat\u00e8gia m\u00e9s efectiva. En canvi, una implementaci\u00f3 del 68 % de cobertes verdes maximitza els impactes desitjats i minimitza els no desitjats.
