Organitzat per l\u2019Associaci\u00f3 de Professionals dels Espais Verds de Catalunya (APEVC), el congr\u00e9s va reunir experts i professionals del sector sota el lema <strong>&#8220;La For\u00e7a del Verd&#8221;<\/strong>, abordant com la jardineria i el paisatgisme poden esdevenir motors de canvi positiu davant els reptes ambientals actuals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">La pon\u00e8ncia de Gara Villalba explora com l\u2019adopci\u00f3 de l\u2019economia circular i l\u2019agricultura regenerativa pot restaurar la vitalitat dels s\u00f2ls urbans i periurbans degradats. Mitjan\u00e7ant l\u2019aplicaci\u00f3 d\u2019altes dosis de Ramial Chipped Wood (RCW) o estelles de poda \u2014un residu urb\u00e0 ric en carboni\u2014 combinada amb la t\u00e8cnica de no-llaurada, la investigaci\u00f3 demostra resultats prometedors: un augment significatiu de la captura de carboni (SOC), una millora en l\u2019efici\u00e8ncia del cicle del nitrogen amb una reducci\u00f3 dr\u00e0stica de les emissions de N\u2082O, i una major resili\u00e8ncia h\u00eddrica del s\u00f2l, validada agron\u00f2micament amb cultius com el moniato.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">El seu estudi constitueix un exemple important de com la circularitat del carboni ofereix un cam\u00ed viable i amb evid\u00e8ncia cient\u00edfica per a la regeneraci\u00f3 r\u00e0pida dels s\u00f2ls. La presentaci\u00f3 va destacar la necessitat de considerar l&#8217;\u00fas de la poda com una prioritat ecol\u00f2gica per maximitzar la captura de carboni a llarg termini, tot subratllant que el pas de la recerca a l&#8217;aplicaci\u00f3 massiva exigeix una coordinaci\u00f3 institucional s\u00f2lida i un nou marc regulador que reconegui i compensi l\u2019agricultor com a gestor clau de la salut del s\u00f2l i la mitigaci\u00f3 clim\u00e0tica.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Presentaci\u00f3 de Gara Villalba:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[pdf-embedder url=&quot;https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/atmosphere\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Villalba_APEVC-2p.pdf%22]<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>English<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On November 6th, <a href=\"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/atmosphere\/team-member\/gara-villalba\/\"><strong>Gara Villalba<\/strong><\/a> presented her research titled <strong>&#8220;Circularity for Regeneration: The Role of Carbon and Nutrients in Soil Health&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0at the 24th <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apevc.cat\/congres-apevc\/\"><strong>APEVC Congress<\/strong><\/a>, a key event held at Fira de Reus aimed at highlighting the strategic role of green spaces in public health and the shaping of a more habitable territory. Organized by the Association of Professionals of Green Spaces of Catalonia (APEVC), the congress gathered experts and sector professionals under the theme <strong>&#8220;The Power of Green&#8221;<\/strong> (<i>La For\u00e7a del Verd<\/i>), addressing how gardening and landscaping can become engines for positive change in the face of current environmental challenges.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Villalba\u2019s presentation explores how the adoption of the circular economy and regenerative agriculture can restore the vitality of degraded urban and peri-urban soils. Through the application of high doses of Ramial Chipped Wood (RCW) or pruning woodchips\u2014a carbon-rich urban waste\u2014combined with the no-till technique, the research demonstrates promising results: a significant increase in soil organic carbon (SOC) sequestration, improved nitrogen cycle efficiency with a drastic reduction in N\u2082O emissions, and greater soil water resilience, validated agronomically with crops such as sweet potato.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Her study constitutes an important example of how carbon circularity offers a viable and scientifically backed path for rapid soil regeneration.
