This network, comprising five continuous measurement stations across diverse urban settings, provides valuable insights into spatial and temporal CO\u2082 variability and supports the evaluation of urban emission models. Our data, publicly available through the ICOS Cities Data Portal, reveal clear contrasts between traffic-influenced and green areas, highlighting the role of urban vegetation in offsetting between 4 and 10% of anthropogenic emissions. Beyond data collection, we have actively engaged in scientific dissemination, international collaboration, and stakeholder outreach, strengthening the link between cutting-edge research and local climate action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8221;<em>The Integrated Carbon Observation System (ICOS) is a European Research Infrastructure (ERIC) that aims to monitor greenhouse gases. This initiative is funded by the European Union and partner countries. The ICOS General Assembly approved Spain&#8217;s membership, and its incorporation officially began on January 1, 2021. Currently, the ICOS-Spain national network, coordinated by AEMET, has several stations covering atmospheric, oceanic, and ecosystem domains. Each &#8221;ICOS-Spain Activities Report&#8221; presents the main tasks carried out at each station, with the aim of obtaining ICOS certification and the current situation of this process.
