International research exchange is becoming an increasingly important part of ATRAPA’s work. The project has hosted visiting researchers and seminars focused on public acceptability, street-space reallocation and the political dimensions of sustainable mobility policies.
As part of this exchange, Simone Aumann, from the Technical University of Munich (TUM), joined GEMOTT for a three-month research stay. Her work connects directly with ATRAPA’s interest in how people respond to car-independent neighbourhoods and street-space reallocation policies.

These seminars addressed complementary dimensions of policy acceptability, from pathways towards car-independent neighbourhoods to the spatial, social and psychological factors shaping responses to parking interventions.
These visits and seminars help connect ATRAPA with a wider European research community studying transport justice, urban transformation, parking politics, policy acceptability and public opposition, reinforcing collaboration and fostering comparative perspectives across different contexts.
