Su coloraci\u00f3n es marronosa o gris\u00e1cea, aunque tiene una l\u00ednea blanca gruesa en las alas y diversas manchas reducidas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-alegreya-font-family has-small-font-size\">Su cabeza es de medida reducida, mientras que sus ojos compuestos son grandes. En esta zona tambi\u00e9n tienen un aparato bucal de tipo chupador y un par de antenas alargadas y delgadas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-alegreya-font-family has-small-font-size\">En su abdomen destaca la presencia de una l\u00ednea blanquinosa en cada segmento, siendo el primero de ellos el que se encuentra m\u00e1s marcado.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-769d0143 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p><strong>DIETA:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-alegreya-font-family has-small-font-size\">Su nombre proviene del hecho de que la larva se alimenta principalmente de la remolacha, aunque tambi\u00e9n puede ingerir otras plantas. Por otro lado, el adulto suele comer n\u00e9ctar.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-769d0143 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p><strong>ESTRUCTURA SOCIAL Y COMPORTAMIENTO:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-alegreya-font-family has-small-font-size\">Esta especie es de h\u00e1bitos solitarios cuando se encuentran en fase adulta, \u00fanicamente agrup\u00e1ndose si se sienten atra\u00eddos hacia alg\u00fan elemento o durante el periodo reproductivo. En cambio, las larvas exhiben h\u00e1bitos gregarios, de manera que se agrupan para ir en busca de alimento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-alegreya-font-family has-small-font-size\">En lo que respecta a su ciclo, la fase adulta suele encontrarse activa entre finales de primavera e inicios del oto\u00f1o. Es en este per\u00edodo en el que se reproducen, dando lugar a unos 200-300 huevos que depositan en las hojas de las plantas hospedadoras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-alegreya-font-family has-small-font-size\">Tras la eclosi\u00f3n, estas orugas se alimentan del tejido foliar y permanecen en esta fase durante aproximadamente 22 d\u00edas, proceso que consta de 6 estadios. Despu\u00e9s se genera la pupa, que se desarrolla durante unos 12 d\u00edas en el suelo o los pliegues de las hojas.
