Tienen todo el cuerpo cubierto de una densa pilosidad, que en cabeza y t\u00f3rax es de color negro y en el abdomen es amarillento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-alegreya-font-family has-small-font-size\">Como su nombre indica, las hembras poseen una estructura en forma de peque\u00f1os cuernos en la cabeza. Estos se encuentran bastante disimulados entre los pelos de su cabeza. Los machos carecen de este car\u00e1cter, pero poseen unas antenas de mayor longitud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-alegreya-font-family has-small-font-size\">En su t\u00f3rax cuentan con un par de alas transparentes, donde el segundo par es de tama\u00f1o bastante reducido. Adem\u00e1s, poseen tres pares de patas que carecen de estructuras espec\u00edficas para el transporte del polen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-alegreya-font-family has-small-font-size\">Su abdomen es bastante grueso y peludo, lo que favorece la captura y transporte del polen. Debido a su pilosidad amarillenta, es poco visible las manchas negras t\u00edpicas de las abejas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-769d0143 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p><strong>DIETA:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-alegreya-font-family has-small-font-size\">Su dieta est\u00e1 basada en la captura de n\u00e9ctar y polen. Destaca el hecho de que no son capaces de producir miel, por lo que el polen y n\u00e9ctar que transportan al nido lo utilizan para crear otras substancias.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-769d0143 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p><strong>ESTRUCTURA SOCIAL Y COMPORTAMIENTO:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-alegreya-font-family has-small-font-size\">Estos tienen un comportamiento solitario, de manera que no viven en colonia, sino que construyen nidos individuales en el suelo. Este tipo de nidos son construidos mayoritariamente por la hembra de la pareja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-alegreya-font-family has-small-font-size\">Su ciclo de vida comienza con la emergencia de los adultos entre enero y marzo, siendo los machos los primeros en aparecer. Durante la primavera ser\u00e1 cuando busquen pareja y se apareen, proceso que comporta la muerte de los machos y que las hembras se dediquen a la construcci\u00f3n de un nuevo nido.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-alegreya-font-family has-small-font-size\">Las hembras depositan a sus huevos en este nido, siempre acompa\u00f1ados de polen y n\u00e9ctar para poder alimentar a las larvas cuando nazcan. Estas larvas suelen eclosionar a mediados de verano y no completan su desarrollo larval y pupal hasta el oto\u00f1o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-alegreya-font-family has-small-font-size\">Con la llegada del invierno, los individuos juveniles hibernan, de esta manera son capaces de resistir las bajas temperaturas. Aun as\u00ed, tambi\u00e9n puede aparecer en el norte de \u00c1frica y en Oriente pr\u00f3ximo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-alegreya-font-family has-small-font-size\">Como su nombre indica, suelen habitar en zonas agr\u00edcolas y cultivadas.
