University of Ja\u00e9n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Brief summary of research interests<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She graduated in English Philology from the University of Granada (1988) and obtained a PhD at the same university in 1998 with a thesis dissertation dealing with Chinua Achebe&#8217;s narrative production. After teaching at the Secondary School level, she got a position as an Associate Lecturer in 1991. In 2000, she became an Associate Professor at the Department of English Philology at the University of Ja\u00e9n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is a specialist in English-speaking de\/postcolonial literature, with particular attention to African literature. Within this field of research, she has published several studies on authors like Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, Ben Okri, Ngugi Wa Thiong&#8217;o, among others. In 2014, she was invited to be a plenary speaker at Chinua Achebe&#8217;s tribute events at Brown University (Providence, USA), where the Nigerian novelist had been a professor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She has held various positions in university management related to community service.
