The main objective of this GRC is to uncover key aspects of the reproductive physiology, immunology and genetics of fish with a dual purpose: (1) to clarify physiological mechanisms not yet well resolved; and (2) to use this information as a scientific basis for the development of novel biotechnological methods to optimize the cultivation of fish of economic interest, as well as to facilitate the conservation of endangered species. The ultimate goal of this research is therefore to provide solutions to specific problems in aquaculture and conservation biology
