T\u00e9 un m\u00e0ster en Ling\u00fc\u00edstica Hisp\u00e0nica per l\u2019Institut Caro y Cuervo (Bogot\u00e0, Col\u00f2mbia) i un m\u00e0ster en Ling\u00fc\u00edstica (an\u00e0lisi del discurs) per la Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Madrid. \u00c9s membre del Departament de Lleng\u00fces Modernes de la Universitat de Southampton des del 2012. Les seves l\u00ednies de recerca inclouen la socioling\u00fc\u00edstica interaccional, la socialitzaci\u00f3 ling\u00fc\u00edstica, la comunicaci\u00f3 intercultural i el multiling\u00fcisme. La seva recerca se centra en la relaci\u00f3 entre l\u2019espanyol i altres lleng\u00fces en el marc de la globalitzaci\u00f3, des de la perspectiva de la socioling\u00fc\u00edstica de base etnogr\u00e0fica. M\u00e9s concretament, explora els processos socials que intervenen en la interacci\u00f3, focalitzant en la intersecci\u00f3 de llengua, ideologia i identitat en contextos institucionals.
