Es doctora en Ling\u00fc\u00edstica (socioling\u00fc\u00edstica etnogr\u00e1fica) por la Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid. Tiene un m\u00e1ster en Ling\u00fc\u00edstica Hisp\u00e1nica por el Instituto Caro y Cuervo (Bogot\u00e1, Colombia) y un m\u00e1ster en Ling\u00fc\u00edstica (an\u00e1lisis del discurso) por la Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid. Es miembro del Departamento de Lenguas Modernas de la Universidad de Southampton desde 2012. Sus l\u00edneas de investigaci\u00f3n incluyen la socioling\u00fc\u00edstica interaccional, la socializaci\u00f3n ling\u00fc\u00edstica, la comunicaci\u00f3n intercultural y el multiling\u00fcismo. Su investigaci\u00f3n se centra en la relaci\u00f3n entre el espa\u00f1ol y otras lenguas en el marco de la globalizaci\u00f3n, desde la perspectiva de la socioling\u00fc\u00edstica etnogr\u00e1fica. M\u00e1s concretamente, explora los procesos sociales que intervienen en la interacci\u00f3n, focalizando en la intersecci\u00f3n entre lengua, ideolog\u00eda e identidad en contextos institucionales.
