Els principals lots es troben al&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.louvre.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Louvre<\/a>&nbsp;(a trav\u00e9s del banquer Everhard, agent del cardenal&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/pagines.uab.cat\/colleccionismeimecenatge\/ca\/fran\u00e7a#mazzarino\"><i>Mazzarino<\/i><\/a>&nbsp;i col\u00b7leccionista ell mateix), al&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.museodelprado.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Museo del Prado<\/a>&nbsp;(a trav\u00e9s d&#8217;Alonso de C\u00e1rdenas, ambaixador de&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/pagines.uab.cat\/colleccionismeimecenatge\/ca\/espanya#felip\"><i>Felip IV<\/i><\/a>) i al&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.khm.at\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kunsthistorisches Museum<\/a>&nbsp;de Viena (a trav\u00e9s del pintor John Michael Wright, agent de l&#8217;<a href=\"https:\/\/pagines.uab.cat\/colleccionismeimecenatge\/ca\/belgica#leopold\"><i>arxiduc Leopold Guillem<\/i><\/a>, governador a Brusel\u00b7les). Aquest darrer museu t\u00e9 el seu origen en les col\u00b7leccions d&#8217;Elias Ashmole i de John Tradescant, jardiner reial.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/artworld.york.ac.uk\/artworld\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Art world in Britain 1660 to 1735<\/a>&nbsp;cont\u00e9 informaci\u00f3 sobre posse\u00efdors i vendes d&#8217;art. Sobre el mecenatge del duc de York, despr\u00e9s rei, vegeu Michael Wenzel,&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/jhc.oxfordjournals.org\/cgi\/content\/abstract\/14\/2\/205\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Windsor Beauties by Sir Peter Lely and the collection of paintings at St James&#8217;s Palace, 1674<\/a>. La biblioteca reial s&#8217;inicia amb la col\u00b7lecci\u00f3 de Jordi III, i est\u00e0 actualment englobada en la&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/imagesonline.bl.uk\/?service=page&amp;action=show_page&amp;name=kings-page&amp;language=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">British Library<\/a>. El llegat del general John Guise (1765) origina la&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chch.ox.ac.uk\/gallery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Christ Church Picture Gallery<\/a>&nbsp;(Oxford).<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\"><a name=\"fitzwilliam\"><\/a>El nucli inicial del museu de la Universitat de Cambridge, el&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fitzwilliam<\/a>, va consistir en el&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/webapps.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk\/explorer\/index.php?do=cf_all&amp;qu=AcquiredFrom:Fitzwilliam%20AND%20AcquiredFrom:Richard&amp;size=25&amp;dti=text\">llegat<\/a>&nbsp;del vescomte Richard Fitzwilliam of Merrion, que incloia, entre altres coses, una part de la col\u00b7lecci\u00f3&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/pagines.uab.cat\/colleccionismeimecenatge\/ca\/fran\u00e7a#orleans\"><i>Orl\u00e9ans<\/i><\/a>. Els seus llibres els lleg\u00e0 a la&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lib.cam.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cambridge University Library<\/a>, que tamb\u00e9 acull la donaci\u00f3, per Jordi I (1715), de la biblioteca de&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/exhibitions.lib.cam.ac.uk\/royal\/case\/john-moore\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John Moore, bisbe d&#8217;Ely<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">Des de Carles I, cap sobir\u00e0 brit\u00e0nic fou tan \u00e0vid col\u00b7leccionista com&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rct.uk\/collection\/themes\/exhibitions\/george-iv-art-spectacle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jordi IV<\/a>; ja durant la seva reg\u00e8ncia (malatia del pare Jordi III) patrocin\u00e0 el&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.royalpavilion.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Royal Pavilion<\/a>&nbsp;de Brighton. Altres q\u00fcestions del segle XIX s&#8217;examinen a&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.victorianweb.org\/art\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arts in Victorian Britain<\/a>&nbsp;i a un n\u00famero monogr\u00e0fic del&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/jhc.oxfordjournals.org\/content\/vol14\/issue1\/index.dtl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Journal of the history of collections, maig de 2002<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">A comen\u00e7aments del segle XVIII, l&#8217;arque\u00f2leg&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/talman.arte.unipi.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John Talman<\/a>&nbsp;forma una gran col\u00b7lecci\u00f3 de dibuixos (dispersa). Dos coneguts diplom\u00e0tics brit\u00e0nics van formar llurs col\u00b7leccions a It\u00e0lia. La de Joseph Smith, c\u00f2nsul a&nbsp;<i><a href=\"https:\/\/pagines.uab.cat\/colleccionismeimecenatge\/italia#venecia\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Ven\u00e8cia<\/a><\/i>, i introductor de la pintura de Canaletto al seu pa\u00eds, \u00e9s adquirida per Jordi III i acaba dins de les&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rct.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">col\u00b7leccions reials<\/a>. De la de Sir William Hamilton, c\u00f2nsul a&nbsp;<i><a href=\"https:\/\/pagines.uab.cat\/colleccionismeimecenatge\/italia#napols\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">N\u00e0pols<\/a><\/i>, es public\u00e0 el cat\u00e0leg de la secci\u00f3 de cer\u00e0mica, a cura de&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/bibliotheque-numerique.inha.fr\/collection?page=1&amp;perpage=10&amp;search_submit=1&amp;search=Creator.title:Wilhelm\\%20Tischbein.&amp;&amp;refine[Creator][]=Tischbein%2C+Johann+Heinrich+Wilhelm+%281751-1829%29\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wilhelm Tischbein<\/a>. La col\u00b7lecci\u00f3 Hamilton fou una de les primeres a afegir-se al&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.britishmuseum.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">British Museum<\/a>, el nucli del qual est\u00e0 la compra pel Parlament de les col\u00b7leccions de William Courten i Hans Sloane. Entre l&#8217;arqueologia, el col\u00b7leccionisme i l&#8217;espoliaci\u00f3, est\u00e0 al transllat, per Lord Elgin, dels&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ekt.gr\/parthenonfrieze\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">marbres del Parten\u00f3<\/a>&nbsp;d&#8217;<a href=\"https:\/\/pagines.uab.cat\/colleccionismeimecenatge\/ca\/grecia\"><i>Atenes<\/i><\/a>, avui al&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishmuseum.org\/the_museum\/departments\/greek_and_roman_antiquities.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">British Museum<\/a>. La&nbsp;<a href=\"www.parthenon.newmentor.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pol\u00e8mica<\/a>&nbsp;sobre la restituci\u00f3 a Gr\u00e8cia encara continua.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">A Gran Bretanya s&#8217;han conservat m\u00e9s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedicamillo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mansions rurals<\/a>&nbsp;que a qualsevol altre lloc, i sovint aixopluguen riques col\u00b7leccions.
