Se doctor\u00f3 en Qu\u00edmica por la Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona (UAB) en 1984. Tras una estancia postdoctoral en la Universit\u00e9 de Paris-Sud, regres\u00f3 a la UAB donde cre\u00f3 un grupo de investigaci\u00f3n dedicado al estudio computacional de la reactividad organomet\u00e1lica. Desde 1994 es Catedr\u00e1tico de Qu\u00edmica F\u00edsica de la UAB y Jefe del Grupo de \u00bbModelizaci\u00f3n Molecular de Sistemas de Metales de Transici\u00f3n\u00bb. Su investigaci\u00f3n se centra en el modelado computacional de la reactividad organomet\u00e1lica y los procesos de cat\u00e1lisis homog\u00e9nea, con \u00e9nfasis en los mecanismos de reacci\u00f3n. Recibi\u00f3 el \u00bbPremio RSEQ-Bruker de Qu\u00edmica F\u00edsica\u00bb en 2008.
