Josep Cid, Professor of the Political Science and Public Law Department at the UAB, has been awarded the Rafael Salillas National Criminology Prize, granted by the Spanish Society of Criminological Research (SEIC). This award recognizes the criminologist’s extensive and distinguished career, highlighting both his influence and the significance of his research.<\/p>\n\n
The ceremony took place in Seville on November 25 and 26, during the National Congress for the biennial SEIC awards\u2014held this year as part of the 13th Spanish Congress of Criminology. Other awards were also presented to early-career researchers and criminology students who have made outstanding contributions, aimed at recognizing dedication to research in this field.<\/p>\n\n
With the Rafael Salillas National Criminology Prize, Josep Cid was honored for the work achieved throughout his entire professional career, as he was one of the first Spanish academics to focus on scientific research within the field of criminology. He has participated in numerous research projects, serving as the lead researcher on twelve of them. Furthermore, he is the author of monographs, journal articles, and book chapters.
