{"id":81,"date":"2009-09-10T12:28:04","date_gmt":"2009-09-10T10:28:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/cristinaescobar\/biodata\/"},"modified":"2023-03-14T12:40:30","modified_gmt":"2023-03-14T10:40:30","slug":"biodata","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/cristinaescobar\/","title":{"rendered":"Biodata"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cristina Escobar Urmeneta has taught English as a Foreign Language in Primary and Secondary Education and has been involved in the development and implementation of a number of Teacher Education programmes.&nbsp; Currently she is Full Professor at the Department of Language Education, in the Faculty of Education at the Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona (UAB), where she works as a researcher and a teacher-educator.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Escobar Urmeneta is the principal investigator of the officially recognised\u00a0 \u2018Language and Education\u2019, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/led\/\">LED<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0 research group (Ref. 2014SGR1190) and the <a href=\"http:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/clilsi\/\">CLIL-SI<\/a>\u00a0 Action-Research Collaborative Team, which runs school-university partnership projects for the promotion of plurilingual education in inclusive classrooms.\u00a0\u00a0 Her main research interests are the teaching, learning and assessment of Oral Communication, Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), Integrating Content and Language in Higher Education (ICLHE), Classroom Interactional Competence (CIC), Portfolio Assessment, including the European Language Portfolio, and Empowering Approaches to Pre-service and In-service Teacher Education.\u00a0 Currently she is the principal investigator of the PATHWAY\u00a0 project on ICLHE in the English-Medium Primary Teacher-Education Bachelors Degree (Ref. 2015 ARMIF 00001), funded by \u00a0the Generalitat de Catalunya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a teacher educator &#8211; among other responsibilities &#8211; she coordinates the UAB&#8217;s English branch of the Master&#8217;s Degree on Secondary Education offered by the&nbsp; Faculty of Education.&nbsp; She also coordinates the <a href=\"http:\/\/clil.cat\">Master&#8217;s Degree in Teacher Development for Foreign Language Education and Content and Language Integrated Learning (MEd CLIL &amp; FLE)<\/a>, which aims at enabling participants to become methodologically and linguistically equipped to teach content-matter through English, and the&nbsp; Certificate in CLIL for Professionals of Physical Education and Outodors Activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Escobar Urmeneta has served as a consultant to several national and regional education departments and agencies in the design of foreign language curricula and teacher-education programmes for multilingualism, and for the assessment of foreign language competences.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/\/gent.uab.cat\/cristinaescobar\/sites\/gent.uab.cat.cristinaescobar\/files\/my_orcid_qrcode.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"-173\" height=\"-173\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cristina Escobar Urmeneta has taught English as a Foreign Language in Primary and Secondary Education and has been involved in the development and implementation of a number of Teacher Education programmes.&nbsp; Currently she is Full Professor at the Department of Language Education, in the Faculty of Education at the Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona (UAB), where [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-81","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/cristinaescobar\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/81","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/cristinaescobar\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/cristinaescobar\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/cristinaescobar\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/20"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/cristinaescobar\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=81"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/cristinaescobar\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/81\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":137,"href":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/cristinaescobar\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/81\/revisions\/137"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/cristinaescobar\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=81"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
