I am pleased to announce the recent publication of my research on the Letta and Draghi reports in Volume 17, Issue 2, of <em>Cuadernos de Derecho Transnacional<\/em>. This journal is a leading reference in the field of international and transnational law, renowned for its scientific rigor and prestige. It is an honor to contribute to this forum with a study addressing one of the most pressing issues for our society today: the future of the European Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Titled <em>&#8220;Productivity, Competitiveness, and the Internal Market: A Critical Analysis of the Letta and Draghi Reports&#8221;<\/em>, my article examines the strategic proposals recently formulated by Enrico Letta and Mario Draghi. I begin by explaining the causes of the EU&#8217;s current decline. I then outline the authors&#8217; core proposals, which primarily focus on: closing the innovation gap with global powers; expanding the internal market; advancing the green transition without neglecting industrial or social policy; and enhancing EU governance, its international socio-political role, and its defense and security competences. Subsequently, I assess their feasibility, questioning their viability on three fronts: politically, they require unlikely consensus among Member States; legally, they conflict with the principle of conferral of powers; and economically, they demand massive investments that may threaten fiscal sustainability. The article concludes with the mandatory findings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. While the Letta and Draghi reports establish a necessary roadmap, their practical execution requires a level of political consensus that seems difficult to achieve in the current climate. Unfortunately, reality appears to support my diagnosis: these proposals face significant hurdles, despite some commendable progress such as the free trade agreement with Mercosur. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.
