{"id":365,"date":"2024-02-23T18:01:20","date_gmt":"2024-02-23T16:01:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/ecf4climcrisiecosocial\/lecture-speakers\/"},"modified":"2025-01-22T12:36:34","modified_gmt":"2025-01-22T10:36:34","slug":"lecture-speakers","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/ecf4climcrisiecosocial\/en\/lecture-speakers\/","title":{"rendered":"Speakers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The lectures of the Cycle on the Ecosocial Crisis will include the participation of both UAB lecturers and external researchers at our University. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong><em><mark style=\"color:var(--color-marca-primari)\" class=\"has-inline-color\">First conference:<\/mark> Climate crisis, environmental justice and ecofeminisms <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>J\u00falia Mart\u00ed<\/strong><br \/>J\u00falia Mart\u00ed Julia is an ecofeminist activist and researcher at the Observatory on Debt in Globalisation and author of the Ecofeminist <em>Handbook against Corporate Power<\/em> published by Libros en Acci\u00f3n.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>End Fossil Barcelona<\/strong><br \/>End Fossil Barcelona They are a young ecological collective from the city of Barcelona, although &#8220;End Fossil&#8221; is an <a href=\"https:\/\/endfossil.com\/\">international movement<\/a>. <br \/>The Barcelona collective carried out two occupations of the public space of two universities, the University of Barcelona and the UAB. In these, they raised demands related to the university&#8217;s economic links with the fossil industry, university underfunding, and a proposal for a compulsory subject on the ecosocial crisis. <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n<p><mark style=\"color:var(--color-marca-primari)\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong><em>Second conference:<\/em><\/strong><\/mark><strong><em>Pol\u00edtiques contra l&#8217;extralimitaci\u00f3 planet\u00e0ria: modernitzaci\u00f3 ecol\u00f2gica, decreixement i postcreixement<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Eva Vilaseca <\/strong><br \/>Biologist specialized in Ecology and Social and Solidarity Economy. She works from Espai Ambiental and Co\u00f2polis (Ateneu Cooperatiu de Barcelona). Member of the Solidarity Economy Network of Catalonia (XES). He co-promoted, with other organizations, the &#8220;(Im)possible Futures&#8221; project, which promotes the ecosocial transition.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Rub\u00e8n Suri\u00f1ach<\/strong><br \/>Economist specialized in social and solidarity economy and transformative economies. He works at the Solidarity Economy Network, where he develops technical coordination tasks for the entity, as well as project management, from where he has promoted the Futurs imPOSSIBLES campaign. Author of the novel <em>Tot era massa fr\u00e0gil<\/em> (Pol\u00b7len Edicions).<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n<p><strong><em><mark style=\"color:var(--color-marca-primari)\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Third conference:<\/mark> Un sistema agroalimentari disfuncional, causa i soluci\u00f3 de totes les crisis<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Marina Di Masso<\/strong><br \/>Marina is a researcher in the Department of Agroecology and Food Systems at the University of Vic &#8211; Universitat Central de Catalunya (UVic &#8211; UCC) and is also a member of the Inclusive Societies, Policies and Communities (SoPCI) group at the same university. Coordinates, together with other experts, the postgraduate course in Local Agroecological Revitalization at the UAB. I also bet on alternative food systems by consuming agroecological products, organizing myself with my colleagues in the consumption group.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Josep Espluga <\/strong><br \/>Josep has a doctorate in Sociology and teaches at the UAB, where he also does research at the Institute of Government and Public Policy. He is a member of the Globalization, Education and Social Policies (GEPS) group and founder of the Research Group on Agriculture, Livestock and Food in Globalization (ARAG-UAB). He has also worked on social perceptions around climate change. He dedicates himself to cultivating the essay on other subjects when he is not an environmental sociologist, particularly related to the lands where he comes from, Llitera.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n<p><mark style=\"color:var(--color-marca-primari)\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong><em>Forth conference:<\/em><\/strong><\/mark> <strong><em>Extractivisme global i migracions clim\u00e0tiques <\/em><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Beatriz Felipe<\/strong><br \/>Researcher and co-founding partner of CICrA Environmental Justice. Currently, she also works as technical manager for the Committee of Experts on Climate Change of Catalonia and is a researcher associated with the Center for Environmental Law Studies of Tarragona (CEDAT) of the Rovira i Virgili University (URV, Tarragona). Specializing in legal and multidisciplinary analysis of disaster-induced human mobility and climate change, she has also focused on climate change science, global justice education, and international cooperation. Graduated in Environmental Sciences (University of Granada), Beatriz holds a Doctorate in Law from the Rovira i Virgili University. Among other publications, she is the author of the monograph <em>Las migraciones clim\u00e1ticas ante el ordenamiento jur\u00eddico internacional<\/em> (Aranzadi, 2019) i <em>Climate Migrations. On inequalities, myths and lack of protection<\/em> (MRA Ediciones, 2022).<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Jaume Pujolr\u00e0s<\/strong><br \/>Jaume Pujorl\u00e0s Pom\u00e9s is a lawyer and works as a researcher at CICrA Just\u00edcia Ambiental. Graduated in Law (UB), specialized in international and environmental law, with a Master&#8217;s in Diplomacy and International Organizations (CEI-Bcn and UB), and a Master&#8217;s in Environmental Law (URV, Tarragona). He obtained the title of expert in Environmental Law of the European Union at the Jean Monnet Chair of Environmental Law of the UB. His current field of study focuses on the recognition of Rights of Nature.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Miguel Pajares<\/strong><br \/>Miguel obtained a degree in Biological Sciences and a doctorate in Social Anthropology at the University of Barcelona. He is a research member of the Research Group on Gender, Identity and Diversity, attached to the Department of Social Anthropology of the Faculty of Geography and History of the UB. He is Honorary President of the Catalan Action Committee for Refuge and also a member of Ecologists in Action. Author of books and articles related to immigration, asylum, human rights and the fight against racism. He is also the author of five novels of social criticism, published between 2013 and 2022. In recent years, his study has focused on climate migrations, and he has published: <em>Refugiados clim\u00e1ticos, un gran reto del siglo XXI<\/em> (2020) and <em>Bla-bla-bla, el mito del capitalismo ecol\u00f3gico<\/em> (2023).<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Rosana Carvalho<\/strong><br \/>Rosana Carvalho, technician in the area of Cooperation and Education for Global Justice at the Fundaci\u00f3 Aut\u00f2noma Solid\u00e0ria FAS-UAB with a doctorate in anthropology on territorial conflicts and violence in the Amazon, Brazil. Coordinates the Foundation&#8217;s Solidarity Dogs program. <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n<p><strong><em><mark style=\"color:var(--color-marca-primari)\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Fifth lecture<\/mark>: Living on the garbage planet: waste, living and working conditions<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Blanca Call\u00e9n<\/strong><br \/>Blanca is a lecturer in the Department of Social Psychology at the UAB. He researches in the area of Social Studies of Science and Technology and collective action, and in recent years he has worked on electronic waste and the culture of repair in the context of the climate crisis. She is a co-founder and member of the collective<a href=\"https:\/\/restartersbcn.info\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Restarters BCN<\/a>.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Juli\u00e1n Porras<\/strong><br \/>Juli\u00e1n holds a doctorate in Sociology from the University of Barcelona, where he also completed the official research Master&#8217;s degree in Sociology. He has a degree in Sociology from the Universidad Externado de Colombia. He is currently a collaborating teacher at the Open University of Catalonia and at the University of Vic &#8211; Universitat Central de Catalunya.
