She teaches School Ethnography and Anthropology applied to Public Policy at undergraduate level, and is in charge of the Research Projects Seminar in the Master degree on Advanced Research and Social Intervention in Anthropology, where she also teaches Migration and Education, a field in which she has supervised many&nbsp;dissertations. She has a long trajectory in public service and served as Vice-Chancelor of Students\u2019 Affairs and Cooperation at UAB, where she was responsible for equality policies in the term 2012-2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a specialist in <strong>migrations, education and inequality<\/strong>, she has been visiting scholar in several European and American universities and has conducted research in Europe and the US in national and international projects. Until 2007 she was chair of the area of Children and Migrations at the Barcelona Institute of Children and the Urban World, where she coordinated and published the first reports in this field in Spain. Prof. Carrasco created the EMIGRA research group in 2005 and promoted CER Migracions at UAB founded in 2009, where the Master on International Migrations&nbsp;is taught. She is the UAB PI of ResMi, the <strong>Network of Excellence on Migration Studies <\/strong>(2017-2019) financed by the Ministry of Economy and Competence and coordinated by Prof. Francisco Javier Garc\u00eda Casta\u00f1o, Universidad de Granada, and she participates in Committee on Education and Social Mobility of the European network <strong>IMISCOE <\/strong><strong>devoted to research on migrations&nbsp;<\/strong>andthe European Network of researchers on education and society <strong>NESET<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Carrasco often acts as consultant for national and international organizations and for public administrations, member of the European Science Foundation Pool of Expert Reviewers and part of the Editorial Board of the academic journal <strong>Ethnography and Education<\/strong> (Oxford) and the series <strong>F<\/strong><strong>ocus on International Migration<\/strong> (UAB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She joined the <strong>ACT.NOW<\/strong> platform in 2018, in the expert group DESC Network (Diversity, Education and Social Cohesion) that gathers academics, NGOs and professionals working on education and social rights of refugee and migrant children and youth in the<strong> MENAT region<\/strong> (Middle East, Northern Africa, Turkey) and in the European receiving countries: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.act-n-o-w.com\/\">https:\/\/www.act-n-o-w.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Silvia Carrasco collaborates with the media regularly.
