The 13th Midterm Conference of the European Sociological Association (ESA) – Research Network Sociology of the Arts – will take place in three key locations in and around Barcelona:

🏛️Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona – UAB
The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) is one of Spain’s leading public universities. Its main campus covers 260 ha and hosts a wide range of research, teaching, cultural and service facilities. It is located in the Greater Barcelona Metropolitan Area, close to Sabadell and about 20 km from the city centre.
The UAB campus is easily accessible from Barcelona by train (FGC) and highway.

🎶 SGAE – Sociedad General de Autores y Editores
The SGAE is the main collecting society for songwriters, composers and music publishers in Spain.

📍 Location of the Social Dinner
The Social Dinner of ESArts 2025 will take place at L’Estació – Espai Gastronòmic, a spectacular venue located inside the historic Estació de França in the heart of Barcelona.
With its majestic noucentista architecture by Duran i Reynals, the venue offers a wide and elegant space, richly adorned with marble, bronze and a large central clock, preserving the charm of the original station. It is one of the few large-capacity event venues in the Born district, making it a unique location for cultural gatherings.

🎨Fundació Joan Miró
The Fundació Joan Miró was founded by Miró himself to host his private collection and promote international research and contemporary art. Opened in 1975, the Fundació is today a dynamic cultural centre where Miró’s work coexists with avant-garde artistic expressions.
