May 21, 2003"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The opening ceremony of C\u00e0tedra Jordi Arbon\u00e8s was held on May 21, 2003, at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting of Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona. The session was opened by the Vice-Rector for Research, Josep Santal\u00f3, and the Dean of the Faculty of Translation, Joan Fontcuberta. This was followed by writer Joaquim Carb\u00f3, who presented a biographical profile of Jordi Arbon\u00e8s, and poet and translator Francesc Parcerisas, who spoke about the translation work of the honoree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To close the event, actress Rosa Novell read several excerpts from works translated by Jordi Arbon\u00e8s, and musicians Marcel Casellas and Mohamed Soulimane gave a brief performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gl\u00f2ria Arbon\u00e8s and Xavier Arbon\u00e8s also participated in the event, delivering words of thanks to the audience.
