He has taken part in several projects funded through regional, national and European calls in the field of biotechnology and, in particular, in environmental technologies based on biological processes. In addition, he has been involved in various contracts and technology transfer agreements with companies and public administrations. His research focuses on environmental engineering and, more specifically, on the design and use of biological systems for the treatment of organic waste (composting and anaerobic digestion), and more recently on SSF (solid-state fermentation to obtain bioproducts from waste) and on nanotechnology for environmental remediation.
