His doctoral thesis focused on the study of gaseous emissions during the biological treatment of sewage sludge, mainly through composting and biodrying, characterising volatile organic compounds and odour emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Daniel is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the GICOM research group, and his work focuses on understanding and characterising gases emitted from different waste and wastewater treatment facilities, with the aim of studying both the environmental and olfactory impact of these emissions and their relationship with waste stabilization and process evolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Daniel\u2019s current research topics include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Solutions for gas sampling and analysis in pilot and full-scale facilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implementation of community composting sites and monitoring of the associated gaseous emissions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Diffuse emissions of greenhouse gases and volatile organic compounds from landfills, and biogas collection efficiency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Application of biochar in anaerobic digestion and composting of organic waste to improve energy recovery and mitigate greenhouse gas emissions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Characterisation of gaseous emissions from various waste and wastewater treatment processes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-0128-6445\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ORCID<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/portalrecerca.uab.cat\/en\/persons\/daniel-gonz%C3%A1lez-al%C3%A9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Portal de recerca uab<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Daniel Gonz\u00e1lez Al\u00e9 is a Chemical Engineer and holds a PhD in Environmental Science and Technology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona since 2020.
