After that, he completed a Master\u2019s degree in Advanced Biotechnology at the International University of Andalusia with a focus on industrial biotechnology. The topic of his Master\u2019s thesis was the use of CRISPR-Cas9 for the silencing of colour genes in strawberry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Upon finishing the Master\u2019s degree, he enrolled in an Erasmus+ placement at MetGen, Finland, where he joined the hydrolysis team after his stay. Later, he moved to M\u00e1laga with a Youth Guarantee fellowship. He joined GICOM as a PhD student in the ICTA programme at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His research is focused on downstream processing of biosurfactants produced by SSF. His supervisors are Dr Antoni S\u00e1nchez and Dr Javier Moral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-4929-4057\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ORCID<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nicol\u00e1s Oiza van Lochem studied Biology at the Autonomous University of Madrid.
