In the device-independent<br \/>\napproach, states and measurements are black boxes, without specific<br \/>\nphysical properties and this device-independence has then influenced<br \/>\nthe development of the so-called generalized probabilistic theories.<br \/>\nHowever, with this inheritance, in those theories it is difficult to<br \/>\napproach questions regarding physics. For example: How does a system<br \/>\nevolve in time? What would be the ground state energy of a harmonic<br \/>\noscillator?
