Human Rights
Our outputs in the field of human rights have been mainly focused on improving the rights of arrival and integration of migrants in the EU. We are coordinating the project ITFLOWS and we have published several articles related to the laws of the sea applicable for rescuing migrants as well as the prevention of migrant trafficking and smuggling.
Data Protection
We are extremely interested in the latest developments that AI is bringing to our society. We have recent publications in the field of data protection, examining the impact of AI in predicting the arrival of migrants, the implications of online political microtargeting, and the consequences of interoperability of databases in the EU.
Security
We contribute significantly to security studies, examining diverse challenges within the EU and globally. The studies explore comprehensive security approaches, addressing border, cyber, and environmental topics. The researchers foster insights into international conflict, human security, and the role of global organizations.
International law
Global Intel group members engage in robust studies on International Law, contributing to the understanding of legal frameworks within the European Union (EU) and on a global scale. Research at this group cover diverse aspects, including EU law, international treaties, and human rights, reflecting a commitment to advancing legal knowledge and addressing contemporary challenges. Through its academic initiatives, the group plays a crucial role in shaping legal discourse and fostering a deeper comprehension of the complexities inherent in the international legal system.
Climate change & sustainability
We conduct forefront of research and studies in the realm of Climate Change and Sustainability, exploring the environmental challenges within the European Union (EU) and globally. By covering topics such as sustainable development, climate policy, and environmental law, the researchers are contributing to a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding ecological sustainability. Through its academic endeavors, the group plays a pivotal role in advancing knowledge which addresses the urgent issues posed by climate change on both regional and global scales.
