Tomorrow, 6 December 2023, GLOBAL-INTEL researcher Dr Anna Ayuso will participate in the event “RENEWING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE EUROPEAN UNION AND LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN: TOWARDS A JOINT AGENDA FOR MULTILATERAL AND INTERREGIONAL CHANGE?”
Dr Ayuso has been part of the organising committee of this event, which involves the following organising institutions: (1) Permanent Representation of Spain to the European Union, (2) United Nations University Institute on Comparative Regional Integration Studies (UNU-CRIS), (3) Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies, KU Leuven, and (4) Recherche et Études en Politique Internationale (REPI), Université libre de Bruxelles.
The Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second semester of 2023 has been a unique opportunity to rethink the bi-regional partnership between the European Union (EU) and the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region.
This Policy-Research Dialogue brings together practitioners and scholars of EU-LAC relations to debate key advances and challenges. Two thematic panels will provide a platform for a comprehensive discussion, exchange of insights, sharing of perspectives, and offering recommendations. The first panel contextualises the interregional relationship in a changing global order, and the second panel zooms in on bi-regional policy cooperation.
The event will take place at the Permanent Representation of Spain to the European Union – Rue Ducale 89, 1000 Brussels. Dr Ayuso will participate as part of the panel 1 on “Multilateralism in Crisis: What Space Exists for EU-LAC Cooperation?”.
