Dr. Lídia Ballesta has been awarded the first prize Francisco Javier Landaburu Universities 2024 by EuroBasque | Basque Council of the European Movement for her research “The importance of women’s leadership in the institutions of the European Union”.
The theme of this edition was “The contribution of women to the construction of Europe.” Dr. Lidia Ballesta’s project aims to analyze the situation and the role of women in leadership positions in the European Union over the last two decades. The focus is on how these women have contributed to defending and strengthening European values.
The jury has particularly appreciated Lidia’s dedication to conducting an empirical, quantitative, and qualitative study on proposals, legislative acts, court decisions, and political measures related to equality. This is in relation to the increasing presence of women in institutions.”
