Call for Papers – Special Issue: Artificial Intelligence in the European Union: Ethics, Impact and Governance in the Digital Age
Topic Description: Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming diverse sectors in the European Union, from the economy and health to education and security. This special issue focuses on exploring the ethical dimensions, social and economic impact, and governance challenges associated with the implementation of AI in the EU. We invite researchers, academics and practitioners to submit papers addressing these issues from multiple disciplinary perspectives.
Topics of Interest:
- Ethics and responsibility in the development and use of AI
- Impact of AI on employment and the economy
- AI and human rights
- AI policies and regulations in the EU
- AI governance and oversight models
- AI in health and education
- Technological innovations and their societal impact
- Case studies on the implementation of AI in the EU
- Transparency of algorithms.
Important Dates:
- Abstract submission deadline: October 15, 2024
- Abstract acceptance notification: October 25, 2024
- Full article submission deadline: February 6, 2025
- Special issue publication: July 2025
Instructions for Authors: Authors should send an abstract of no more than 500 words to cristina.blasi@uab.es. Abstracts should include the title of the article, the names and affiliations of the authors, and a clear description of the topic, methodology, and expected results. Full articles should follow the formatting guidelines of the Quaderns IEE journal.
