As we announced a few weeks ago, on 16 May we will launch the hybrid event, “Institutional gender-based violence: reflections, challenges and proposals for change” on May 16, inviting top experts in the topic. You can register for online attendance via this link or the QR in the attached program, which describes more details.

The findings of this event will be the foundation of the proposal we are preparing under the CERV-DAPHNE-2026 on institutional violence, that the UAB will coordinate. Among the provisional consortium, there is the Catalan Policy (ES), the Catalan Government (ES) and the NGO Counterintuitive Institute (BG).We are currently in conversations with other key relevant authorities in Spain, including judicial bodies, law enforcement, social services, legal practitioners, and healthcare professionals.

Gender-based violence (GBV) and domestic violence remain critical challenges across Europe. While efforts have been made to improve victim support services, gaps persist in coordinated and gender sensitive responses among public authorities, and in ensuring victims receive timely and effective assistance. This project aims to bridge these gaps by developing an innovative digital platform that strengthens institutional responses and enhances victim support mechanisms.

This project aligns with the CERV-DAPHNE-2026 priority to enhance protection for victims of gender-based and domestic violence. By integrating digital innovation, multi-agency collaboration, and victim-centered services, the initiative will contribute to a more effective and cohesive response to GBV in Spain, serving as a model across Europe.
