About the Genetics Male Fertility Group (GMF)
Genetics Male Fertility Group (GMF) is a research team based at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, dedicated to understanding the genetic and cellular mechanisms that shape male fertility. Our research investigates how genome organization in germ cells and molecular alterations in sperm determine gamete quality, embryo development, and reproductive health.
Our research combines fundamental discoveries with translational approaches, supported by a strong network of national and international collaborations. Through the identification of novel biomarkers and the development of innovative approaches, GMF aims to bridge basic knowledge and clinical applications in reproductive biology.
Beyond scientific discovery, GMF is committed to training the next generation of researchers. Through the University Master’s Degree in Cytogenetics and Reproductive Biology and the Cellular Biology PhD programme, we provide students with a stimulating research environment and advanced expertise to pursue successful careers in research and clinical reproductive biology.
