I graduated in History in 2015 at the University of the Balearic Islands and completed the Master’s Degree in Biological Anthropology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2018-2019. I am currently finishing my doctoral thesis at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) under the direction of Drs. Cristina Santos (UAB) and Manuel Calvo (UIB).
I am interested in the study of prehistoric island communities from an anthropological perspective that includes paleogenetics and osteology. My doctoral thesis project focuses on the analysis of a Mallorcan community (Balearic Islands) from the end of the Iron Age (650-123 BC) that was buried in a place with a strong symbolic charge, the “Turriforme Esglaonat de Son Ferrer” (Calvià, Mallorca), and where the majority of buried individuals are perinatal non-adults (<40 weeks of development). My work focuses on investigating the possible kinship relationships between individuals, their geographical origin, the relationships with populations around them, the study of infant mortality or the possible diseases they suffered.
