I have a degree in Biology from the Universidad Aut\u00f3noma Metropolitana (Mexico), a PhD in Biology from the Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona (Spain) and I did a postdoctoral stay at the Universidade dos A\u00e7ores (Portugal) working on different molecular genetics projects. Later I was a research professor in the Advanced Genomics Unit of Cinvestav (Mexico), where I set up and coordinated the first Paleogenomics laboratory in the country and conducted research in different areas of genomics. I have supervised 8 doctoral theses, 19 master’s final theses and 8 bachelor’s final theses. With my collaborators I have published more than 50 articles in indexed international journals with an impact factor and 10 book chapters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am currently a lecturer at the Anthropology Unit of the UAB where I want to investigate the variation, both normal and pathological, of mitochondrial function in the human population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
