I graduated in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Barcelona (Spain) and completed an inter-university master’s degree in Biological Anthropology at the UB\/UAB, specializing in Human Diversity and Biomedical Applications. I am currently studying for a PhD in Biodiversity at the Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona (Spain) and, partially, a master’s in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During my PhD, I carry out research in the ancient DNA laboratory of the Biological Anthropology Unit of the UAB, where I apply advanced techniques of next-generation sequencing (NGS) and bioinformatics analysis to study samples of individuals who lived during the Bronze Age in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands. These studies allow me to explore the kinship relationships between the buried individuals, analyze the diversity of maternal and paternal lineages, and characterize both the individuals and their populations. In addition, metagenomic analysis makes it easier for me to identify pathogenic microorganisms that could have affected the health of individuals and possibly contributed to their death. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n
