Lecture by Dr. Steve Thorne"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n<p>Last december, as a part of the international encounter Learning in the Age of Hyper Connectivity, Dr. Steve Thorne (Portland State University &amp; University of Groningen) gave a lecture on &#8220;Human development and semiotic remediation through mobile place-based games&#8221;. Applying principles expressed in cultural-historical and ecological approaches to development and distributed\/extended\/embodied cognition, this talk described a variety of projects to illustrate the use of Augmented Reality (AR) place-based techniques for creating multilingual learning opportunities for language students.
