The general theme of this 21 edition was \u00abAttitudes and Prestige\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n  <p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>GREIP&#8217;s insight<\/strong><br>\n    The Sociolinguistics Symposia were begun in the 1970s by a group of sociolinguists who saw the need for a forum to discuss research findings and to debate theoretical and methodological issues concerning language in society.
