Rahat Zaidi de la Escuela de Educaci\u00f3n de Werklund, Universidad de Calgary, el pasado 27 de febrero. Ella habl\u00f3 de un programa, elaborado conjuntamente con el Dr. Jim Cummins del Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, que integr\u00f3 el uso de libros biling\u00fces en una escuela de primaria en Canad\u00e1. Trabajaron en t\u00e1ndem con personas de la comunidad pluricultural y pluriling\u00fce que rodea la escuela para apoyar y validar las &#8216;pr\u00e1cticas heredadas&#8217; y las pr\u00e1cticas comunitarias y as\u00ed integrarlas en la realidad de la sociedad multicultural y multiling\u00fce contempor\u00e1nea. Despu\u00e9s de la charla, Dra. Zaidi ofreci\u00f3 un taller sobre el desarrollo y la implementaci\u00f3n de un curr\u00edculo anti-Islafobia en las escuelas.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n  <p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>GREIP&#8217;s insight<\/strong><br>\n    We had a full house for the talk by Dr. Rahat Zaidi of Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary. Her description of a recent project that integrated the use of dual language books in mainstream multicultural elementary, in conjunction with collaboration of members of the multilingual and multicultural community surrounding the school raised comments and questions by the audience of more than 60 people. Zaidi\u2019s talk was followed by a stimulating workshop about developing and implementing anti-Islamphobia curriculum in schools. All in all, a learning experience for everyone present.
