His presentation raised fundamental questions about the utility of GenAI beyond its traditional role in query-driven information retrieval.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The audience, including teachers as well as master&#8217;s and doctoral students, was particularly captivated by the primary focus of Dr. Thorne\u2019s research: assessing the pedagogical potential of GenAI as a conversational partner for language learning. His work explores its capacity to enhance interactional competence and refine prompt design to address the common issue of overly verbose responses from ChatGPT.
