On the second day of the doctoral school, we couldn\u2019t be more grateful. Dr. Meike Wernicke and Sadia Shad captivated us with a presentation on the positionality of the researcher, guiding our questions, our process, and the collective construction of knowledge. Central to their discussion were reflections on who we are as researchers, why we engage in this work, and for whom we do it\u2014questions that, as they put it, are fundamental to any research process.<\/p>\n\n\n

Afterward, GREIP PhD student Changchun Li shared both his triumphs and challenges as a second-year doctoral student. He concluded his talk by engaging senior and junior researchers in a discussion about sample sizes and publication processes.<\/p>\n\n\n

Today, we look forward to Dr. Florence Bonacina-Pugh\u2019s presentation on Exploring \u2018practiced language policies\u2019, where she will illustrate how this concept has contributed to the empirical turn in language policy research. It promises to be a stimulating and busy afternoon for all of us.<\/p>\n\n\n
