#GROW is carried out by Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and Politecnico di Milano (Polimi), and funded by Fondazione Cariplo.

Polimi, led by Alessandra Guglielmi, will focus on the statistical analysis and development of predictive models, and UAB, represented by Lara Maestripieri, will conduct qualitative case studies and contribute to policy analysis.

Alessandra Guglielmi

Alessandra Guglielmi is a full professor in Statistics, Department of Mathematics, Politecnico di Milano (Italy). She is a methodological statistician. Her recent work has been dedicated to Bayesian models for measuring the gender gap in access to the labour market and for economic inequalities and boundary detection.

Luca Perego

Luca Perego is a PhD student at the Department of Mathematics, Politecnico di Milano. He is interested in applying Bayesian statistics to social issues, and is currently working on the relationship between childcare and women’s employment within the #GROW project.

Simone Colombara

Simone Colombara is a PhD student at the Department of Mathematics, Politecnico di Milano, specialising in Bayesian Statistics. His research interests focus primarily on areal (spatial) statistics, epidemiology, and longitudinal data analysis.

Giulio Beltramin

Giulio Beltramin is a PhD student at the Department of Mathematics, Politecnico di Milano, specialising in Bayesian Statistics. His research focuses on Bayesian nonparametrics and spatiotemporal models applied to environmental data.

UAB Team

Lara Maestripieri

Lara Maestripieri holds a PhD in Sociology and Social Research, awarded by the University of Trento (2011). She is a Serra Hunter Lecturer in Sociology of Work at the Department of Sociology of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Her research interests concern social change in post-industrial society, and in particular, her contributions focus on economic insecurity, social innovation in social policy, and emerging professions. Her research has primarily focused on studying youth and women as vulnerable social groups in Southern European labour markets.

Raquel Gallego

Raquel Gallego is Full Professor of Political Science and Public Administration at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), where she is also Senior Researcher at the Institute of Government and Public Policies (IGOP)

Alexandra Seehaus

Alexandra Seehaus holds a PhD in Work and Employment Relations, awarded by the University of Leeds (2025), and has, until recently, held a postdoctoral research fellowship at Leeds University Business School. She is interested in social inequality, changes in the world of work, and labour relations.
