Scalability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Efficient execution of applications: programming model, energy consumption, heterogeneous multicore. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Availability <\/strong>of HPC resources (available to user)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fault tolerance for HPC in numerical (technical-scientific) and transactional applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integrity against attacks in use and\/or access to the HPC resources (Vulnerability) <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Design and optimization of HPC systems<\/strong>, for &#8220;workloads&#8221; specific (application-specific domains)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>CPU, network interconnection, I\/O &amp; Availability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support tools (simulation) <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Social projection (impact)<\/strong> applications (solutions to problems of social impact -smart applications-, which require the capacity of HPC class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>HPCNelogo<\/strong>: Environment for the concurrent execution of ABM models under Netlogo-Behavior Space in an unattended\/remote way on an HPC cluster using SGE 2026<\/p>\n<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>\n<p>Our research group participated in the 26th International Conference on Computational Science (ICCS 2026), held from 29 June to 1 July 2026 at DESY, Hamburg, Germany.<\/p>\n\n<p>During the conference, two members of our group presented their latest research contributions:<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Merc\u00e8 Planas<\/strong> presented &#8220;Proactive Forecasting with a Digital Twin in Emergency Departments: Preserving Key Performance Indicators Values&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Francisco Mesas<\/strong> presented &#8220;From Formal Specifications to Executable Simulations: A Computation-Driven Metasystem for Agent-Based Modeling&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n<p>Their participation at ICCS 2026 reflects our group&#8217;s ongoing commitment to advancing research in computational science, digital twins, simulation, and intelligent systems.<\/p>\n\n<p>Congratulations to Merc\u00e8 and Francisco on their successful presentations and for representing our research 2026)<\/p>\n<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>\n<p>Congratulations to Gerard Enrique, Antonio Gonz\u00e1lez, Ana Candelaria \u00c1lvarez, Miquel Albert, Mercedes Planas, Francisco Mesas, and Samuel Isai Cota for successfully presenting their PhD progress reviews this week.<br><br>Their presentations highlighted the ongoing advances of their research projects and the commitment, effort, and perseverance required throughout the doctoral journey.<br><br>As a research group, we are pleased to see the continued progress of our PhD candidates and their contributions to scientific research.<br><br>We wish
