{"id":169,"date":"2010-01-21T13:44:24","date_gmt":"2010-01-21T11:44:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/hpc4eas\/"},"modified":"2025-12-11T15:34:19","modified_gmt":"2025-12-11T13:34:19","slug":"research","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/hpc4eas\/research\/","title":{"rendered":"Research"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"167\" data-end=\"519\">Our group focuses its activity on advancing scientific and technological knowledge in two strategic domains: <strong data-start=\"276\" data-end=\"312\">High-Performance Computing (HPC)<\/strong>, as the foundation for advanced computational support, and the development of <strong data-start=\"391\" data-end=\"424\">applications aimed at society<\/strong>, particularly in the field of <strong data-start=\"455\" data-end=\"518\">Simulation and Management of Intelligent Healthcare Systems<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"521\" data-end=\"896\">We work on expanding the capabilities of our <strong>HPC<\/strong> tools and developing new strategies to address <strong data-start=\"617\" data-end=\"649\">Artificial Intelligence (AI)<\/strong>\u2013based applications. Our objective is to design models and tools that enable <strong data-start=\"726\" data-end=\"763\">safe, efficient, and energy-aware<\/strong> execution of applications on HPC systems, while also contributing to advancements in simulation and intelligent healthcare services.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"898\" data-end=\"1181\">Our research lines include the development and enhancement of key tools such as <strong data-start=\"978\" data-end=\"987\">PAS2P<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"992\" data-end=\"1001\">RADIC<\/strong>, their application to AI workloads, and the design of strategies that consider critical aspects such as performance, scalability, fault tolerance, security, and energy efficiency.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1183\" data-end=\"1632\">Within the area of <strong data-start=\"1202\" data-end=\"1265\">Simulation and Management of Intelligent Healthcare Systems<\/strong>, we promote the development of technologies that allow the modeling, optimization, and strengthening of healthcare system resiliency. This includes the creation of simulators to support decision-making in Emergency Healthcare Services, high-performance simulation for chronic disease scenarios, and agent-based modeling of urban mobility during emergency situations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1634\" data-end=\"1905\">Across all these areas, the need for <strong data-start=\"1671\" data-end=\"1708\">optimal or near-optimal solutions<\/strong> to complex problems naturally arises.
