The preparation of the catalogs has configured the systematization of a methodology for the description of musical documents integrated into archival and document management regulations.[1]<\/sup><\/a> The description system incorporates the digitization of the musical incipits of the handwritten scores, in the majority of the described collections, which allows the paleographic characteristics of each document to be visualized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The preparation of the collection of printed catalogs comes to an end with the writing of a methodological presentation followed by an introductory study in which mention is made of the personality of the collections, their history and the main musical contributions that they contain for the knowledge of the history of music in Catalonia. This study, which precedes the catalogue, contains a historiographic chapter prepared with data extracted from the documentation preserved in the historical archive to which the collection belongs, which helps to complement the historical aspects of the mother institution that has generated the existence of the musical collection – magisteriums. of chapel and organ, choirs and couplets of ministers or instrumental templates – as well as the biographical profiles of the composers who are represented in it, many of whom have remained unknown until the edition of the catalogues. The content of this introductory study can be accessed both through the link to the Dip\u00f2sit Digital de Documents (DDD)<\/a><\/strong> of the UAB, which we incorporate at the end of the bibliographic file of the respective catalogues, and through the section Studies on catalogued musical funds<\/strong> <\/a>in the publications section of this site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collection of printed catalogs includes volumes 1 to 12 and has had several sponsorships: the Subdirectorate General of Archives of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat of Catalonia exclusively sponsored the edition of volumes 1 to 3 and in agreement with the UAB that of volumes 4 and 5; The editing of volumes 6, 7, 8 and 9 was undertaken by the UAB, through aid from the Micinn projects; and the publication of volumes 10, 11 and 12 has been carried out in a co-publishing regime between the UAB and the IEC, thanks to the aid of the Micinn and Fontes Music\u00e6 Cataloni\u00e6 projects. Starting in 2024, the catalog collection will be published only in digital format, thanks to the sponsorship of the Subdirecci\u00f3 General d\u2019Arxius i Gesti\u00f3 Documental <\/strong>of the Departament de Cultura de la Generalitat de Catalunya, <\/strong>in collaboration with <\/strong>the Institut d\u2019Estudis Catalans<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
