La seva recerca musicol\u00f2gica compr\u00e8n aspectes hist\u00f2rics i interpretatius de la m\u00fasica dels segles XV al XIX i temes de pensament i d\u2019est\u00e8tica musicals, sobre els quals ha publicat nombrosos llibres i articles, i presentat pon\u00e8ncies i comunicacions a congressos nacionals i internacionals. Ha rebut diversos guardons d\u2019investigaci\u00f3 musicol\u00f2gica, com els premis Higini Angl\u00e8s de la Societat Catalana de Musicologia (1977), Fundaci\u00f3 G\u00fcell de la Reial Acad\u00e8mia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi (1982), Emili Pujol (1991), Fundaci\u00f3 Ernest Lluch (2008), Beca E. Lluch Ciutat d&#8217;Olot (2010) i Joan Mercader (Igualada (2014). Ha exercit de secretari de l\u2019Institut de Musicologia Josep Ricart i Matas (1979-2002) i de la <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.iec.cat\/scmus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Societat Catalana de Musicologia<\/strong><\/a> (1992-2004). \u00c9s acad\u00e8mic corresponent de la <strong>Reial Acad\u00e8mia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi<\/strong> (2007) i membre de l\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iec.cat\/activitats\/entrada.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Institut d\u2019Estudis Catalans<\/strong><\/a> (2017). La seva tesi doctoral se centra en la hist\u00f2ria de la capella de m\u00fasica de Santa Mar\u00eda del Pi a Barcelona en el per\u00edode 1700-1936 i l&#8217;estudi del nivell de vida dels seus m\u00fasics, comparant els seus ingressos amb dades macro-econ\u00f2miques. Des de 2016 col\u00b7labora en la catalogaci\u00f3 de col\u00b7leccions musicals per al projecte IFMuC (UAB) que tamb\u00e9 coordina des de 2023. Amb especial inter\u00e8s en la tecnologia OMR i HMR, ha participat en el projecte DoLoRes, al Centre de Visi\u00f3 per Computador de la UAB, en el desenvolupament de software per a la transcripci\u00f3 autom\u00e0tica de partitures manuscrites. Amb anterioritat i paral\u00b7lelament a la seva recerca, des de 2016 ha desenvolupat la seva activitat com a int\u00e8rpret en <a href=\"https:\/\/carlesbadal.net\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/carlesbadal.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>nombroses formacions musicals de l&#8217;\u00e0mbit del pop i el rock<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Equip<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>IFMuC forma part del Grup de Recerca Consolidat (SGR)<strong> <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/webs.uab.cat\/patmuc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><em>Patrimoni Musical de Catalunya IFMuC-IcMuC<\/em><\/strong><\/a> de la Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona (UAB), coordinat pels Profs.
