On October 6 and 7, 2025<\/strong>, the symposium Violence and Social Inequality in Latin America and Spain<\/strong> was held at the Faculty of Sociology of the UPO, aiming to provide a multidisciplinary analysis of some of the facets that shape manifestations of violence in Latin America and Spain. The event featured a large attendance from students to hear the presentations by faculty from UPO and the University of Seville: Pilar Cruz Z\u00fa\u00f1iga (UPO)<\/strong>, Structural Inequalities and Gender Violence in Latin America<\/em> (opening lecture); Virginia Guti\u00e9rrez Barbarrusa (UPO)<\/strong>, Citizen Participation and Public Policies<\/em>; Jes\u00fas Ignacio Delgado (US)<\/strong>, Struggles in Latin America for the Rights of LGTBI People in Contexts of Violence and Social Conflict<\/em>; and David S\u00e1nchez Rubio (US)<\/strong>, Systems of Domination, Inequalities, and Human Rights<\/em> (closing lecture). The symposium was supported by the UPO Department of Sociology (Research Support Plan) and collaborated with the INCASI2<\/strong> project and the DINAMOS research group (SEJ-692).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
